Between September and Christmas Eve of 2004, five members of the belovéd Posse went on a three month journey around Fiji, New Zealand and Australia's East Coast. Below lies our complete correspondance with the travellers, even the difficult couple of weeks where we were also out of the country and we were trying to communicate between Fiji and Bulgaria (see menu above). That's something I'm never going to forget!

01.01 - 22/09/04 - Fiji Bula everyone!!! This is in fact the third attempt at getting an email to you all-the comunications systems out here aint exactly quick!!! Hope everyone is good in Blighty, we`re having a fantastic time in what has to be paradise. Its a bloody long way to come though-26 hours of travelling to be exact. Really hot, loads of mozzys, i counted 27 bites on my right foot, not to mention the few on my left. We`ve been out seeing and staying on the different islands which has been really good, we`ve met loads of people from all over the place-Germany, France, Italy and Stroud!! The hostels are varied, the main land would put some decent hotels to shame, whilst on the islands hot water just didnt exist. They`re so remote that its just the hostels that are there and not much else. Just been doing loads of snorkelling around the reefs and hill climbing. Went to a hidden cave with our guide which was really fab,you had to `swim under` to get to it. Today we`re just lounging at base before going off to New Zealand. I will definitely be returning here again some day in the future, its so nice! JT-The first Jonnyisms have occured, the first one involving curry,bones and chicken. The second one involved a bunk bed. No doubt you`ll hear all about them!! Chris-so far no yellow snow,but i`m keeping my eyes peeled. Weather here is lurvely, today we built sandcastles and then the sea washed them away... well, that's all we've been doing so far. informed... We're back from the Black Sea now... done the usual things... went to an island, went
up a mountain, drank tea by the swimming pool and watched locals play catch with jellyfish... got
drunk on a boat (Hmmm, that sounds familiar!!). It's a bit wet round these parts at the moment, still,,
we've got tans so we don't care. Haven't heard from anyone yet on Malmesbury matters or the
Floppers, but will be seeing them in a day or so. I've never heard Amy being so quiet? Is she
there?? The people of Tesco's have been asking about her! Moving into our new home over the
border in about 14 days... so will keep you in touch about that too. Ummm, that's about all for now,

03.58 - 08/10/04 - New Zealand Hi all, Think this might work. Absolutely knackered, just spent nearly 5 hours hiking and climbing around glaciers in Franz Josef, a rather large glacier/ mountain type thing. really amazing, really hard work. We had those spikey boot things aswell, which took some getting used to.Managed to get stuck in an ice cave thing and had to get pulled out by the guide-only me!! The weather is really warm, think i caught the sun today so i`ll probably look like a lobster tomorrow. Fantastic room here, log style cabin with en suite and kitchen, abit nice for backpackers!! Probably be a steaming night tonight-has been since Monday.Lots of beer!! Off to Queenstown tomorrow, dont know what there is to do there but they say its nice. Jonny and andy have not either. not sure about ritch. hope you are both well. not too long now ah! see you both soon. speak to you soon em. 01.06 - 14/10/04 - New Zealand Hi all, We`re currently in Te Anau which is a small town next to a huge lake. We spent last night in Riverton, another small town right down on the south coast. Apart from Stewert Island, its pretty much the most southerly point of New Zealand and pretty much the world. Its a weird thought to think that we were stood on a beach only 2 hours plane ride away from the Arctic Circle. Surprisingly, it was rather warm and no coats were required!! Visited a decent waterfall and did a bit of climbing which was nice. We only have two days left on the bus, which is a relief because we were on it for about 10 hours yesterday and it was starting to get a tad tedious. I get the feeling everyone is looking forward to Australia now. I`m just taking it all in, and theres alot of it to take in!! It would be good if someone could let me know how England got on against Azerbeighan because i dont think i`ll be able to watch it here. We`ve still got 5 with us from the other bus which is good and we`ve all become good friends, so hopefully we`ll all keep in touch. Dont think theres anything else to report, so i hope all is good in Blighty. Jonny 19.24 - 14/10/04 - Postcard from New Zealand G'Day! Finally got a chance to write some cards!! Having a fab time so far, we've done so much in a short space of time. Fiji was cool (well pretty hot) very relaxing and friendly. New Zealand is lovely, with Auckland a great city and the countryside when you leave is awesome. We visited some live volcanic hot springs yesterday which was great. I'm sh*tting myself at the moment because tomorrow we're due to do a 12,000ft skydive in Taupo (+ I don't like heights!) See ya both soon!! Moley. 18.44 - 15/10/04 - New Zealand hi. hope you and ellie are well! we are back in queenstown now and its 6:30am. we are travelling to christchurch today. and will be there for two nights. then it gets a bit mad because we fly to auckland then fly to cairns. so we will be in oz in 4 days. i think. anyway, the other day in dunedin we climbed the steepest street in the world. steep!! we climbed to the top. And we have spent the last few days on the bottom bus looking at the wildlife and nature. It was good, but no alcohol onvolved- too quiet. Thats pretty much it. We bumped into jon and peter again. (step brothers who we met in auckland) they are a laugh and we see them every few days on our travells. yeh. T.T.F.N. Flippit. 06.36 - 19/10/04 - Australia G`day from Oz. We have arrived down under and its flaming hot!! Bit of a shock after cool New Zealand, but no doubt we`ll get used to it. Warmer than Fiji i reckon. Me and Andy finished off New Zealand in the best possible way-beer and a kebab on a rooftop overlooking Auckland-the beer was good. Sorting out the diving tomorrow so that should be good. Nothing else to report at the mo!! 08.44 - 19/10/04 - Australia Having a truelly tropical stoem-amazing! 08.41 - 24/10/04 - Australia hi all! we have just got back from the great barrier reef, where as you know we did some diving. firstly, amy and andy were not able to do diving as they have astma and failed there medical. It was a four day course, 2 in the deep sea divers den centre and 2 days in the great barrier reef. We had to firstly pass a medical, which the rest of us did. Then we had to pass an written exam (theory) I got 84/90. Then we had to pass a swimming test.-200m swim and 10 min water tred. then we had to do 4 confined water cives(in the pool) and 4 open water dines(in the sea). Everyone passed it all and are now open water divers qualified. I however only did 2 open water because I was so scared I was ill. I hated every minute but got some snaps. (photos) I have a scuba divers qualification. the difference is they can go on there own and I have to go with an instuctor. but I still got a qualification and im proud of myself for trying as I didn't want to do it in the first place. Tomorrow we have a day off-didgeridoo buying time!!! I`m still having problems with emails aswell, i know that some arent reaching me, and it seems that some i write are not not getting to their destination. Apologies if this the case, i dont know whats wrong but maybe the time has come to go to hotmail. I`ve also run out of space in my address book-blummin` things!!!! Anyway, all is good here, we`ve done our diving on the Reef, pretty incredible some of the things you see down there, weird and wonderful coloured fish and coral. Myself, Ritch, Emma and Jenny are now PADI certified as recreational divers, which is kinda cool. Had to do an exam and have lessons for it, but it was good fun and we learnt a fair bit. Got back from Ayers Rock yesterday, and to be honest i thought it was really spectacular. It didnt `glow` in the evening because there was cloud, but we were up at 4 the next morning and saw a spectacular sunrise and it decided to glow then. Myself and Ritch climbed to the summit-it takes about 1:30 to do it comfortably, and its well worth it as the view is spectacular. You can see for miles and miles. Quite moving if you`re into that kind of thing!!! Bloody hot aswell-a cool 38 degrees. We have just got back from the jungle with `Uncle Brian`, a guy who takes you into the jungle but puts a completely different spin on bus tours. It was really good fun, made alot of friends and i would love to do it again. Sunday we head off to Magnetic Island-i know nothing about the place but everyone says its good, so that should be fun. Saw Craig over the weekend (what with it being his 21st) - he's doing fine, says the garage is a lot quieter and the staff are a lot less argumentative without Moley there! We are staying in a place called airlie beach. It is so hot! it is always around mid 30's. Today is too hot. I spent an hour in the sun then had to get out. But I am determind to cme home with a tan. A few days ago we stopped at a crocodile farm. The man who runs it, runs it for meat and he also rescues them from rivers and things. He got onto our bus before we looked around to talk to us. I was sat at the very front, and he thought it would be very funny to drop a small croc he was hidng onto my lap. all I can say is he found it mor funny than me!! We havn't been up to much at night, But we decided to treat ourself's and we are going to a massive foam party in a night club tonight. It should be fun, I can't wait!The only thing is We seem to always have the big nights out when we leave early the next day. So we will be tired tomorrow. They fell behind, Jenny was on her seventh, she stayed behind. Now ritch and inga have caught up, so there is in fact six again. As for jenny, nobody knows where she is or what shes doing. Shes pretty much cut hereself off.She was on about staying for crimbo, dont know if she will or not though-we dont even have her email address. Its a tad on the warm side - average temperature 30 degrees. We've moved from Cairns to Townsville, a whole days travelling, and as you can see, not very far! Bloody big country! Funky hostel, it's right on the beach surrounded by palm trees, clear blue water with no floaters!! So far I have done Sky divnig, cave climing, Canyon swing, a PADI diving corse, white water rafting, horse riding on a cattle ranch, swimming with sharks Rays and Turtles, louge, hanglidding, feed Moley to a croc, had a love child with Andy and I now have friends all over the world. Sombody please wind Moley up about "THE AUSTRIAN GIRL" They swam together under waterfalls in the dence Jungle around Cairns, from what he told me she was very pretty, short, funny, had a fantastic body but most of all she wanted him! But in true moley style he forgot to get a number, E-Mail address or anything.... DOH! Can't tell you much about the girls because I haven't seen much of them, but from what I've seen and herd the jist is as follows, Amy has been in one solid hormonal killing frenzy stab you with a tooth pick if you so much as exist MOOD! Jenny no one knows any thing about since she took off with "we're just friends" number six or seven and Emmas just been very quiet'ly getting more and more pissed off with Amy+Jenny. As for us lads we've all gotten on really well and we still love eachother very much, though Moley probably loves us a bit too much! A big shout out to BUMBLE who has kept me pissing my self with laughter by sending me E-Mail after E-Mail, I love you dude (tell Melly once and for all my body is not for hire!) We were up in the air for 30 mins and she nearly shat herself till she got in the air. Tomorrow me and amy are doing a surfing lesson for 3 hours. we thought as we are in the surfing capital of byran bay we would have a go. I also chickened out of doing the shark dive the other day but the other three did it. that is amy, andy and jonny. Not much else to say at present. We are going to chill this evening. Well hope you are all ok, I will speak to you soon. have fun. take care emma x 07.17 - 15/11/04 - Australia Hi everyone, All is prettyy good, we`re currently in Byron Bay-a beautiful little surf town just below Brisbane. We have temporarily lost Plumb but he will be joining us later in Sydney. Have to say, Oz has been slighly disappointing, but is getting better again. We spent the night in Dingo, a cattle station in the middle of nowhere-small at 40000 acres. The biggest one in this country is 5.5million acres-it takes them six hours by helicopter to check the back gate is closed!!! We then went to Mooloolaba and went shark diving in a big aquarium, it was well good. They`d swim half an inch in front of your face.The biggest one there was about 3.5 metres long. Had an interesting evening last night, we stayed at Nimbin, hippy capital of Oz-could of got just about any drug we wanted at good prices (apparently). the girls have just been hangliding but i havent seen them yet to find out how it was. myself, Will and Pia have just done a very long walk along the coast and been up to the lighthouse-the most easterly point of Australia. Going diving tomorrow, should be good its straight off of a dingy. They reckon its full of marine life. thats about it, everythings good, its all going on and everyones well. just a stat to give you an idea of how big this place is, look on a map, and Brisbane to Sydney is six hundred miles. There's us thinking you're all being innocent, then Frodo Plumb comes along and gives us the real story! I hope you are all well. well over the last few weeks I have done some pretty cool stuff. I have been hanggliding which was quite scarey at first but once I was up there awsome. I also did a night canoe. there were about 16 of us. only a few were in twos. me and amy made up one. jonny and andy made up the other. It was funny because we kept going round in circles, and the boys thought it was funny to keep raming into us. oh and it was pitch black and very hard to see. We saw bats, flying fish and stars. We made it into sydney saturday. We didn't get up to much that day we just looked around the area. sunday we took a trip to the cinema to watch the grudge. which made me jump- alot! Yesterday we had a relaxing day. me and amy went swimming in the roof top pool of our 5* hostel and then in the sauna! followed by a shopping spree for amy. And today was the best day in sydney so far. We went and booked a tour to go and look around the blue mountains, which we are doing thursday. Tomorrow we are going to see the lion king, which I have already seen in newyork, but amy insited on paying so I would go and not leave her with the boys. And friday night. get this- we are watching a ballet in the sydney opera house. it gets better. jonny and andy are coming too! I don't know if thats good or bad! so tomorrow and friday we get to dress up nice! Oh me and amy have had histeria for 2 days! last night was so funny we could't stop laughing for 3 hours!!!! anyway. 05.54 - 30/11/04 - Australia Hello jt and ellie! Glad to hear you are both well, We are all in canberra except jenny. You lot will be pleased to know that we ahve bumped into jenny-she is in sydney! so will probably catch up with us very soon. She is now going to come home with us. We all seem to be suffering with hay fever, especially since we got to canberra. The weather is just getting hotter and hotter. It was 42 degrees yesterday. So hopefully we will all come back with tans! even amy and jonny!
