Malmesbury Maps
Malmesbury has many-a-mile of gorgeous footpaths - whether they run along a riverside, through fields, along historical tracks, over the Cotswold hills... we recommend getting hold of a local Ordnance Survey map, packing some sensible footwear and just see where you end up! Here are some recommended sites in Malmesbury itself.

Daniels Well
From Truckle Bridge to Burnivale. This is a great
place on a lazy sunny afternoon with plenty of space
for chillin' and dipping your feet in the water. Really
close to the town. Look for the footpath next to the
entrance to The Maltings.

Water Meadows
A row of open fields follow the River Avon from
Daniels Well to Town Bridge. Along this stretch
of land you can look across to see a brilliant,
panoramic view of England's Oldest Borough.

St Aldhelms Mead
A playing field and playground surrounded by
the river. This is really easy to get to, has a
toilet block, seating and is just a five minute
walk uphill to the centre. Turn right through
the black gates opposite the Rose & Crown pub.

Conygres Mead
Between the Station Yard Long Stay car park
and the Spice Merchant. To the south you can
see parts of Abbey House Gardens. This trek
also includes Wortheys Hill where you will find
the town's Cricket and Rugby Club.

Ingleburn
Two fields which run to the north east of the town centre from the Spice Merchant to Malmesbury Bowls Club. The clubhouse is on Baskerville which gives easy access to either St Aldhelms Mead or the Old Railway Track to the east.

Old Railway Track
Following the road under the A429 along Baskerville you'll find the town treatment works - next to this is an embankment from Malmesbury's railway days. This track can lead you miles out of town - or to the most south-east tip of Malmesbury - Cowbridge.

Cowbridge
This brief walk links to old railway embankment with the B4040. There is currently major development work taking place at this site, but walkers can still get access to Malmesbury Weir.
