Help guide to Malmesbury Maps v2009
The homemade guide to England's Oldest Borough
All of the maps featured on this website have been redrawn for 2009 to reflect the latest changes and developments across Malmesbury.
One of the great features of the Malmesbury Maps website is the all-in-one menu system - which has now been upgraded to be more user-friendly and to take up less room on screen. From this menu, available to the right, you can access all of our maps and information details.
The first button is 'Minimize'. Pointing your mouse cursor to this box will remove the menu temporarily from the screen. To redraw the menu, move your cursor away from the minimize box.
Next to the Minimize button there is a rolling text box which displays a colour key, extra information and a scale. Pointing at this box will bring up the scale at any time. Clicking this button will return you to the main page.
Next to the rolling text box is the Help box, giving access to this page.
There are also three dropdown boxes. The first of these is Features:
ROADWORKS - Details any major roadworks currently taking place in the town.
ROAD NAMES - This brings up a list of roads, places and attractions in Malmesbury. By clicking on any item on the list, you will be taken to the most relevant map.
PARKING - Showing the official parking areas in Malmesbury
SEA LEVEL - Colour coded info showing height above sea level
The second dropdown box is 'Zoom Select'
By clicking anywhere on the small picture, you will be taken to a close-up of that area which includes road names, information and places of interest. The 'zoom' pages also have arrows at the top, bottom, left and right sides of the pages so you can move to different areas of the map. All locations such as hotels, pubs and attractions are underlined on the zoomed-in maps. By clicking on - for example - a sports club, a fresh map will be brought up showing the locations of all sports clubs in the town. By clicking on the 'View All' button, you will return to the original map which displays all areas of the town. Again, clicking on this complete map will zoom in.
The final column is 'Options'. Select what you need from the list and a dedicated map will appear, showing all items which match your selection. By clicking on the boxes on screen, you will be taken directly to the company's official website. If there isn't a website available you will be given contact details and some basic info. The Malmesbury Maps logo is at the top of all pages. Just click on it to return to the main page. Click on the flying Jackdaw (in the top left corner) to be flown over to our sister site, The Jackdaw.com.
